Mira
Ashoosh -
Mira
was introduced to the Davis® method in 2000, through a 5-day correction
program that Judith Schwarcz gave her son. Before reaching the center,
he had tried many different recognized programs with only slight
improvement. With the Davis program in a creative atmosphere that suited
his learning style, Mira found that her son could learn. The largest
change came when she and her husband were able to transfer
responsibility to their son with fun and no pressure. Mira
immediately became attached to the Davis® method. She wants to help
other children reach their true potential with a method that is fun,
creative and pleasurable. Using the Davis holistic approach, she knows
she can achieve this.
Mira is working both with Judith
Schwarcz in The Center for Self-change and in Kiriat Ono with private
clients.
Mira provides Davis Correction® Programs in Hebrew, Russian, Yiddish and Lithuanian

Schwarcz Becomes First Facilitator in Israel
In 1997, Judith Schwarcz listened to The Gift of Dyslexia on tape and immediately flew to England with her son to do a Davis program with Hilary Farmer and Lin Seward. Since then, she has worked tirelessly to increase awareness of the Davis methods in Israel.
During her Facilitator training in England, Switzerland, and the US, she met and conquered the challenge to adapt Davis Symbol Mastery exercises to an entirely different alphabet and develop a Hebrew trigger word list. She is currently working on translating and publishing a Hebrew edition of The Gift of Dyslexia.
In addition to offering the Davis Dyslexia Correction Program and student advocacy services, Judith runs a parent support group for English Speaking Residents Association (ESRA). In 1998, Judith won the ESRA Volunteer Award for her dynamic leadership, initiative and sensitivity to the needs of the parents and children of the Learning Disabilities Support Group.

Having completed our Davis Licensing Training together in the first track available in Israel and working for several years in the field, we have recently joined forces and established The Point of Change - an organization with the goal of taking the guesswork out of learning.. Within this framework we reach out to parents and educators through lectures and workshops on subjects such as communication, observation, working with the LD child etc. We are in the process of setting up a 4 session parenting group relating to learning disabilities. By combining our expertise, knowledge and experience we are able to offer even more to our clients and their families.
